The ringing of a good axe is my favorite Christmas carol. :)

Sweet axe! Lord knows this time in Maine we have plenty of blow downs. I sense quite a few in my near future with this blasted snow and freezing rain mix.

Yup! Tons of them around here. Helps me out with making these videos, that's for sure! :D

It's only a 900g head (so juuuuust shy of 2lb) but it bites DEEP. All of my swings in the video are "lazy" ones because full-force swings would either go right through the target and into the dirt or (in the thicker sections) bite so deep that it'd get stuck. Made for very easy and relaxed work.

So far my experiences for these types of axes has flown in the face of the common cries of "thin bits will stick like crazy" and "it has to have a large poll to be balanced." The thin blade doesn't need much mass to balance it, and the handle is offset to bring the hand close to inline with the axis of rotational balance. What results is an axe that is geared up with different functional priorities and it just requires a little different approach to its use for it to shine its brightest. :)

I love your caffiene-o-vision videos.

The axe certainly does an adequate job of limbing. A 'bit thin' for splitting though (pun intended).

With the slip-on eye it would make a handy axe to bring along on your ATV.

Yeah--no splitting with this puppy! :D It's a pure chopping machine.
