I was talking to Rob Bayley (he makes the bear gyrills knife) there is a four year waiting list on one of his knives so i asked him what knife should i get for now he said the falkniven s1. Ive never had a knife before but want one for living in the wild, no bigger than 260mm but strong with teeth just like the bear gyrlls knife. HELP, SOS ;-)

Well, the Fallkniven S1 is a very highly thought of knife. Excellent matierials (laminated VG-10), excellent reputation and solid design. It lacks the serrations (teeth) that the Bear Grylls knive has, but honestly most serious outdoorsmen and knife users prefer a plain blade. You really can't go wrong with the S1.

Beyond that, there is such a wide selection of very good "outdoors" knives available from Bark River, RAT, Ka-Bat, and others that it's hard to single one out as better than the others.

I currently use a Fallkniven A2 and EDC a Fallkniven PXL folder, I have an S1 as well, but it's a collector not a user. All are exceptional knives and I would have no hesitation recommending them to anyone. In my opinion Rob's advice is solid.

That said, you have also received some additional good advice, try to handle the S1 before purchasing to determine how it feels in the hand, and don't be afraid to give knives from other manufactures due consideration.
