Hi All,

It was a cool and rainy day in the Blue Mountains, but I found a nice dry window for an afternoon hike. I grabbed the dog and took a wander along the Petun side trail of the Bruce Trail. It was a classic fall hike, complete with regular stops to harvest wild apples. Here are a few photos. Enjoy!

There are plenty of mushrooms and other fungi around:

My knife of choice today was one of my own creations. What do you think?

I'm enjoying this scenery while I can - won't be long until it's covered in snow!

Just magnificent Mentor! I'm not sure if it is spring or the fall that I love best...I just like the changing of the seasons.

I love the northern woods! Beautiful pictures. Thanks for taking the time to post them.

I like the look of your creation. Mountain man lines always go well with wood handles. How is that carried?

Thanks! I made a leather sheath with rustic stylings and rivets. I'll take a picture tomorrow and upload it here.

All the best,

Looking very nice Mike....Good to see the colours starting to change. Bring on the cold!!!

Good looking blade. Great pics, too. Time for winter to come and pay its' visit.

Stepped out for a late night walk in the rain. It's down to single digits here (9 C). Woo-hoo!

Here's a view of the moon through the clouds:

That is a really beautiful area Mike! I don't blame you I'd be out there too taking it all in, things take on such a different look in the snow... though that will be beautiful too in its own right. Thanks for sharing the pictures. The sun is about to come up here and I am headed to the misty foggy woods for a while myself.

A few additional shots from today:

Some appropriately seasonal views of the trees and sky

Ruby, with her ubiquitous tennis ball. We spent part of the afternoon doing some trail maintenance, which she loves.

I brought my JK ACEK along today, and it saw plenty of use chopping up downed tree limbs.
