As part of an extended birthday celebration I treated my wife to a North Carolina getaway. Our destination was Half-Mile Farm in Highlands, NC. Many of you may recall that we visited Half-Mile Farm together with Phil (Comprehensivist) & his wife right after Blade Show in June of this year. That was springtime in the mountains. This past week's trip was resplendent with fall colors:

After a busy Labor Day weekend the mood at HMF was quite peaceful & relaxed:
There's something magical about walking along a crushed stone drive & hearing the crunch:
Everywhere you turn there is something quaint to meet the eye:
Speaking of quaint, the cabins on property are the real deal:
Scenes of fall were everywhere:
The flower boxes at the Old Edwards Inn were brimming with flowers:
Since this is a knife forum I figured I better include at least one knife pic w/ fall colors even if it was taken last spring:
