One of my brothers in blue in a neighboring jurisdiction was shot and killed this morning by a group of juvenile thugs.

He leaves behind a wife and two year old son.

Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers.

Thank you, friends.

Hope you got the little ratbag f**ks. I also hope they didn't make it to the lockup intact...

Still outstanding...

Dang

i hate to hear news like that. i'm sure some people out there will never realize the price LEOs pay to try and make it safe out there for everyone.

His family will be in our prayers.

What's really pathetic is most of this random violence that tears communities apart and ruins countless lives is the result of peer pressure and ignorance. Ignorance of the consequences (broken families or traumatized victims etc.) and the value of life is unacceptable. It's sad that many killings are caused by these punks who feel some sort of inadequacy and need to assert this false bravado.

Hope the family will be ok.

Sorry to hear the news. I had a friend that I grew up with join LAPD. He was shot and killed by a 15 year old who got behind him and grabbed his side arm and shot him in the head. He (the perp) was found by the dogs 8 hours later hiding in an attic with Jim's revolver. He took five rounds to the head. I feel your pain.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the officer and his family.

I have a special respect for those individuals that try to protect the rest of us.

I hope the punks are caught and prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

My heart sank when I saw the title of your post. I've lost several close brother officers and partners over the years and it doesn't get any easier.

My sympathy goes out to the entire Law Enforcement "Family".

I'm very sorry to hear the news. I've lost too many friends and coworkers to just such violence.

It saddens me greatly to hear of this.
It has not been a good year in Texas for Law Enforcement Officers either.
I am being sworn in tomorrow morning. Tomorrow afternoon I will be shopping for a vest.

My dept. lost two officers this last summer in a helocopter crash. One I worked closely with when I was in the Narcotics unit. One feels great pain when they hear of a fellow officer paying the ultimate price for doing their job. I hope that this bane on decent people is caught soon. I will also rmember his family tonight in my prayers.
Stand the watch dear brothers and sisters

As an LEO in the UK, we all feel when a brother officer dies in the line of duty and our thin blue lines grows even thinner.

May his murderer(s) live long, and suffer every day !

Everyone,

A memorial fund has been set up for his family. Any Bank of America, account #16848 715. By the way, his son's birthday is this weekend. Unbelievable...

The survivor's benefits in this state are terrible, so any help will, obviously, be terrific.

Thanks,

-Scott
