They are both good knives, but IHMO I think they are at opposite sides of the spectrum. How are you planning on using them?

I plan to use them for smaller chores in the outdoor such as whittling and food prep Etc

Even the S1 is pushing the upper limits for length for light chores.

I'd look at the Fallkniven F1 or ESEE-3, depending on if you want a coated blade or not. Both are as good as it gets for thin, flat, light fixed blades that can do 99% of the work of much bigger blades.

Look also at the DPx HEST II line of fixed blades. Great for camp and bush.

I would say S1 with the satin finish. An F1 would serve you just as well too.

IMHO the BK-2 is too thick and heavy duty for your criteria, not that it would not work, but you can find a better knife more suitable to whittling and food prep.... Mora, Opinel, are inexpensive knives that would work well.

+1 for this... i think i have said this 40 times on various threads that the F1 is an amazing little knife and more than suited for light/medium chores... and it is small enough to be out of the way.

Yes the F1 will be a better knife than the S1 for Your intented purpose!
Yet it will be a stand alone user, if Your Bowie is out of reach.

Becker BK17 or BK16 or Bk10 or BK24. The Bk2 not really meant for whittling or food prep but can be. I can slice very well with mine but got used with a reprofiled edge. Not sure how the factory's is. Although the BK9 is one of the sharpest knives I've ever had out of the box. Suprized me quite a bit.

IMO, both of those are not suited for your intended purpose.
The F1 would be better for food prep and whittling.
I would think a lighter weight knife such as a Mora 2000 would meet your needs better.
Also, the Eskabar with some scales is a nice knife. I recently used an Eskabar as the primary kitchen knife on a week long car camping trip. We packed as minimally as possible to take a smaller vehicle, so I did not take the full kitchen oil compliment as usually. The Eskabar was a great tool to use all week. I also side it for other basic camp chores and I am really sold on the design and execution.
