This is my first ESEE/RAT post so I am sorry if this has already been covered.

I have just recently found the Izula on this site and I think I am in love. Question is, about how large is it? I carry a Ka-Bar LDK under my vest at work (LEO) and want to replace it with something. How large is the Izula compared to other Fixed blades and how well does it stay in it's sheath?

I will probably end up getting one anyway, but it would be easier to justify it if I had a purpose in mind when I recieved it. I am asking for one on a trade right now, but if that does not pan out I could see myself buying one later on.

Thank you for any and all advice.

it isnt very large, but large enough to cover anything you will have to cut IMO, it is also my favorite ESEE that i own.

the in sheath retention is great!

i also like that there are a lot of accessories that you can get for them
you can get cool sheaths made for them :D

i've edc'd mine since july... except for a few days in l.a... love this knife:thumbup:

the izula photo thread has lots of pics, with other knives, and in various carry methods to give you an idea.

thanks i wrap the damn thing different every weak. great blade man, one of the best all around

No worries about it sliding out of its sheath. I sanded mine down to get it to come out easier, in fact.

Oh man, just got my first ESEE today and yup, it's a Izula. I'm making my own thread to sing it's praises. Congrats to you and me:thumbup:

Gundude's pic gives a good relative size for the Izula. The sheath retrains the Izula amazingly well. I like carrying fixed blades inverted and have had a few work loose under stress. I have NOT had this problem with the Izula, and have no worries about it happening. Also of note: the Izula is a very sturdy little blade, and is VERY sharp. The only issue I have is that I prefer a straighter edge, but this is pure preference - the Izula performs without flaw.

beleive it or not this is the only knife that got my wife interested. this includes spydies, benchmades,et al. she was just so tired about me praising this little work horse. but once i gave her a pink one for our tenth anniv. she is just as smitten as one can expect. i made her a leather sheath as the supplied one held the knife to tightly and she was scared she would slip and cut herself trying to get it out.

Kudos to you for getting your wife involved in something that's important to you. My wife used to be afraid of guns but after years of shooting with me and learning how they function she is completely comfortable with them. In fact so comfortable she has a couple of her own. ;)

You cannot go wrong with an Izula. When you get one, you won't want JUST one.

Awesome fixed blade for EDC, a myriad of carry options, robust, light, thin, etc.
