Hey guys I just bought a Fallkniven A1 online, just curious what y'all think about it and what I should expect. Pro's Con's? Thanks in advance.

Incredibly tough knife. Well made and will take anything you throw at it, and laugh back at you.:D

6 mm thick at the spine, so, very thick. It's a heavy, durable "big knife" but not too big and heavy to be useful. It's a good knife. :)

You should expect good service from this knife. It fits the bill as a good all around using knife. Comfortable to use, edge holds up well, nice and sturdy and hard to put down as it feels like an extension of the hand- as all good knives should feel.

They are awesome. My only gripe is that I don't care for the handle. I am fixing that....rehandling mine!

I have an old one in solid VG10 and I broke the tip on it. I then carefully reprofiled it on a grinding wheel (without burning the steel) and I think it looks better and stronger than the original shape.

How on earth did you manage to break the tip? Stab it an inch inside wood and pry it like your life depended on it? Or slap it in a vise and twist it? If the tip broke in normal use, then it was a faulty knife, and should've been covered by the warranty.

I have the old style A-1 unlaminated. It's the right size and mine came sharp as a razor. I think you'rew going to like using it.

You can also buy the blade only and do it yourself. Throw on some micarta, G10 or stabilized wood and you can have a sweet blade.
