I am seriously considering buying one of these for my fixed blade needes whenever im out camping/hiking and also love the degree of protection it looks like it can provide. I will be getting one off-line and was wondering what site has the best, not only prices but also customer service and speedy delivery...i wouldnt mind spending the extra 20 here vs there if it means i get better customer service and the real deal A1!!!!! :)

Input is needed, i have never bought a blade over the net and am a little scared to spend 150+ to only get something like a cheap knock-off or not have it shipped a month after i purchased like ive read some places have done :(

Can't go wrong with New Graham Knives. I have had good personal experience and they get endless praise around these forums. Oh, and they have Fallkniven. :)

Benchmade CSK II is the brother of the fallkniven A-1 take a look at both knives and you'll see what i mean.Maybe a good option with 1095 CS and a leather sheath for around 65$.

im not a fan of VG10 steel or any stainless steel anyway;)

yes i have seen the benchmade CSK....i like the CSK A LOT! more than the CSKII mainly because of the handle but idk about wanting to sharpen that D2 steel so maybe ill reconsider the CSKII

I was also wondering what the differnce in the finish material is...obviously sandblasted is more prous there for easier to rust due to the little holes (without the use of oil of course) vs a mirror finish which is a lot harder to rust...but what is with the all black finish like on the Fallkniven A1? it say it is teflon coated but idk if that goes for both the all black finish AND the satin finish? i have seen the A1's test at knifetests.com and the all black finish seems to rub right off after normal wear and tear ie. chopping a little 1in branch...i dont want to spend the extra money on the all black finish to just have it wear off and not be as attractive as the satin finish in the long run (im thinking the black is just a sales pitch, not to mention ive read a lot of you guys on here dont favor the black finish!). are BOTH finishes teflon coated? what is the advantage to having the teflon coating vs not?...any help?

on fallkniven VG10 is pretty corrosion resistant its stainless so the coating is useless if you dont care about possible reflections.

A knife without blade coating is suppose to cut butter.(REF) Mike Stewart - BRK&T

reflections is not that big of a deal...im not sneaking into ememy compounds :D however i dont favor a mirror blade so i think im going to go with the satin finish...looks used already when its brand new not to mention has quite low reflective properties.

i have read that the A1 has a very easy to sharpen blade on it..this is attractive to me when picking a survival knife...something that can if need be sharpend on the right set of rocks...anyone have any expierence doing this on the A1 or any good links to people testing the ability to sharpen a convex blade without sandpaper or a sharpner...just lets say a few rocks?
