Today I have whit me the Fallkniven F1

It’s a very well-know knife, compact but tough, one of the best for the bushcraft

I want to made an “A-frame” back pack, it’s an emergency back-pack of course.I use the F1 to cut and work some woods, batoning on it

no problems at all, the F1 blade cut easily wood’s fibers truncating the branches.

And that’s what I get, two branch long as my arm, and another one branch a bit shorter

they will be the “A” frame of the backpack

Now, it’s matter to tie them, it’s better to made some carving, the knots will be more secured

Here we are, the structure is tied and solid

Now, I use my shemagh as a sac, and I tie it to the backpack’s structure

Last but not least, the shoulder brackets, I’ll do them using a single rope long 2,5 metres

My “survival” back pack it’s done, the total weight (back pack + items in the sac) is 6 kg more or less, and it’s enough comfortable, I could hike a long trail whit it

Conclusions: the Fallkniven F1 didn’t need to be commented a lot, it’s one of the most known bushcraft knife. He helped me a lot doing this emergency backpack, has a great cutting efficiency and a comfortable handle, also when hands are wet and frozen

:thumbup:Nice post - way to get out there and do something instead of just typing about it!

Cool post man, thanks for taking the time to put it together. I've seen this in books, but nice to see larger, and better, photos of it. Thanks also for the shots of the F-1 in use. Yes it is a commonly known knife but I have been wanting to pick up a smaller Fallkniven than my A-1 and have been having trouble deciding between the S-1 and the F-1 so the more pics I can see of each, in hand and in use, the better.

Thanks guys.
For me the F1 is a bit too thick, I would like more a 4,0mm thickness blade, all in all I value it as a good bushcraft knife, not the best I tried but good enough.
Cheers from Italy, Alfredo

nice! i really like my s1 for that kinda weather - the handle just grips and grips when it's wet.
