Hey all,
Finally bought an F1. Love the knife, hate the factory sheath. After doing a good bit of research on the interwebz, I found suggestions that the BRKT STS-4 sheath will work with the F1. Blade dimensions are extremely close.

Has anybody actually used this combo? I have a Bravo-1 and love the sheath that came with it and the STS-4 sheath is made the same, just smaller. Before I shell out the $40 to order one, I wanted to see if anyone else had had any luck with it.

Thanks in advance

Have you considered the tailor made F1 leather dangler sheath that is available from Fällkniven?

The Fallkniven F1 has a molded guard which is cut at an angle relative to the blade. For this reason, the F1 will sit fine in a pouch type leather sheath. But for a regular leather sheath that is designed for a knife that has guard perpendicular (or close thereto) to the blade you will not get a good fit at that point. The Bark River knives are perpendicular or slightly convex but close to it.
I use a custom kydex sheath which fits perfectly since they use that guard to retain the knife. If I were intent on leather but didn't want a pouch type, I would have a custom made making sure that the sheath maker has an F1 on hand to account for that angle. Or, as mentioned, Fallkniven does make a leather dangler sheath that would work.

I think I'm the only person alive that likes the factory plastic sheath for the F1. So low profile and low maintenance.

Anyway, try JRE Sheaths. Lots of sizes. I think they provide leather pouch type sheaths for a bunch of different makers.

I have actually looked at their offerings. They are a bit more $ and I can't get comfortable with a pouch type design. It would be a bad feeling to reach for a knife and feel an empty pouch. Admittedly, I say that never having used a pouch. Guess I'm just old fashioned and want a strap.......
