The F1 will be a great knife for you. Not too expensive, not too aggressive, not combat looking and a real companion anywhere from spreading butter for breakfast to real hard core survival (for which it was developed in the first place) and anything in between.
I already have 20 of them and I want more
Regarding quality, I think I heard something like five out of somewhere above hundred thousand broken F1s (thats quality). Most were broken on purpose by swedish geardos. I have only seen one broken H1 though.
When you get the F1 you can usually choose from different sheaths, The zytel are great for everything and especially "messy jobs", the leather ones more classic and so on.
The zytel sheath also go well with Molle/PALS etc.
There is a Fallkniven for any occasion

. While you are at it, F1s are great gifts, but remember that it is bad luck to give someone a knife so you have to add a "gold coin" to the package which the "gifted" one hands back to you. One idea is to make two packages. First the small one with the gold coin (how about a swedish 10kronor coin) and then the big package with the knife. It is a swedish knife so you have to abide to the swedish tradition

There is a Fallkniven group on Facebook.
There is a Fallkniven group on Knifeforum too.
The strongest F1 there is is the F1/3G but there are only 110 of them and they have become collectors items.
The F1 is very popular with "average outdoor Joe", boyscouts, ROTC/TA/Homeguard, active military and specops units in different countries. It was after all developed for the Swedish AF as a survival knife. It is not a "combat" survival knife. The "outdoor" survival needs were a priority since the average swedish AF pilot does not have to knife fight himself to safety.
Good luck with your new knife.
