Having been in Sweden recently for a canoe trip I had lots of opportunity to put the Fallkniven f1 trough some good use.
Loads of firebuilding, so I did a lot of batonning and processing wood, finished off some food with it (fish), shelter building and campcraft/bushcraft stuff in general.
An excellent knife, as you guys probably now. I enjoyed the heck out of it as you'll see in the video I just put up on my youtube channel.
THe only thing I found that it didn't really work for, but what is to be expected because of the shape of the knife, is that filleting fish is quite difficult. The nature of filleting fish is of a more delicate kind which is not very easy to do with the f1 because of it's thick profile/spine. It didn't stop me from eating some fish though
Other than that minor thing, it served me very well and after all the hard use I put it through it only needed some minor touchups on a spyderco doublestuff to get it back to shaving sharp.
As I'm saying in the video, the edge did not chip. I'm stressing this since I'm reading a lot of people are worried about that. I think it's something that has begun to get a life of it's own, since my a1 and f1, having both seen good use in the woods on diverse trips I took with them, have never chipped out.
My guess is that it just has to do with people hitting rocks, pebbles, sand by accident while using the knife and thereby getting some chips on the edge. All knives will chip when hitting rocks and the f1 will be no exception. THere's lots of good videos on youtube of people using the f1 and fallkniven knives in general who don't have this problem at all... So this just might be something that is just repeated and asked again and again without a basis in reality.
I'd like to hear guys that have actually used the f1 about their experiences and if they did or did not chip out the edge. And if so, why and how did it chip?

sheath made for me by Martin Swinkels for the f1. another excellent sheath from his hands. It was a superb experience using it and having a firesteel, teklok, fenix e01 light, paracord and sharpening stone on it. Highly recommend it!
preparing some fish hooks for a nightline
found some live bait for the nightline
building a leanto with a long log fire in front of it. kept us warm all through the night, and dry during the evening rain. excellent shelter, took us a lot of energy to build though.
good fish, made an excellent meal
