Fallkniven F1 with custom handles and sheath
Handles are stabilized maple burl put on by BF member ilbruche. Sheath also by him.
I have used the knife to cut and prepare raw chicken a couple of times for my cats. That and test cuts on paper are the only cuts I've done, which hasn't harmed the factory edge any. I have used its spine to test how well it sparks ferro rods and misch metal rods. As guys in the Wilderness & Survival Skills subforum will tell you, the F1 spine is one of the best at sparking ferro rods. And it's one of the few knives whose spine can spark the harder to spark misch metal rods too. Because I used it to practice my mish metal striking, there's one part on the spine that has a small nick from the molten misch metal (see last photo).
The bottom of the handle spine is also kind of rough visually but doesn't bite your fingers or anything (see second to last photo). I don't know how it got that way since it came to me like that. Maybe ilbruche ground into it when shaping the handles.
Really nice knife but I have a ton of drop points this size and I'm starting to lean toward favoring much thinner blade stocks. The edge of the F1 is remarkably sharp, but its blade stock is more stout than I've come to prefer.
For those not familiar with its specs: 4" from tip to handle scales, 8-3/8" overall. Blade is 3/16" thick at the spine. Full convex grind. VG10 laminated blade.
Sold shipped in the CONUS. International shipping would be more depending on what USPS charges, and I can't be responsible for it getting lost in transit or customs taking it. No trades please.
