Hey Folks:

I am looking to purchase my first Fallkniven (F1), I'm a Bark River and ESEE fan. I only like to buy knives from manufacturers that have an unconditional guarentee, basically if the knife breaks, they replace it, no questions asked.

Has anyone with the F1 had any experiences with FALLKNIVEN warranty service? Good or bad?

Thanks for your help guys!

There was a thread here not too long ago where a guy broke his Fallkniven blade while batoning. He didn't expect them to replace it but they did anyways. Don't have one myself but I have read good things.

My F1 box says it has a limited 2 year warranty against defects. Anyone can break a knife from abusing it, but this thing is built like a little tank so I can't see it failing under normal use... I guess that really depends on your definition of normal.

I do not have any personal experience dealing with them though.

I think I came across wrong. To be more clear the knife that broke appeared to be a fluke. Nothing that the maker did with the knife but an imperfection in the steel. It sounded like they were more than willing to replace it too. I'll see if I can find it :) .......here we are:

Hey wroughndt,

Thanks for finding that post, I searched for a hour to no prevail, thanks again! When buying a knife from a manufacturer I never bought from, I tend to overdue the research. I believe if I am purchasing a quality knife, I would expect quality customer service and warranty.

Thanks for the speedy reply. I just dont want to be stuck in the middle of nowhere with a snapped blade.
I do not see how unlimited warranty helps when you get stuck in the middle of nowhere with a snapped blade? Just rather be careful and do not do anything stupid - that works better.

Any knife can fail or break. Carrying an extra knife is my warranty.

The F1 is a pretty tough blade though and should serve you well.

A warranty is not going to help you there. Only using a knife for what it is designed, and carrying a back up if it fails is what will suffice. No worries with Fallknivens.
