I finally took the plunge on the F1. I was at the same crossroad before and chose the Esee 4. I do like the Esee but the Fallkniven gave the "warm and fuzzy" feeling I seldom get anymore after owning so many knives. I am a huge fan of VG10 for a good user steel, I know it isn't S30v but I really enjoy it in my EDC folders. I am sure it also isn't ideal for bushcraft work but I would feel comfortable with it and my Spyderco Double Stuff in any wilderness situation I can imagine.
The factory edge on this knife very well might be sharpest I've had to date which is saying something. I chose the version with the plastic sheath. Some might say that $117 is steep for this knife but I would gladly do it again, this is a keeper. This is just an F1 appreciation thread.
