I've a little curiosity about the Fallkniven F1 knife: where the "made in Japan" words are written on this knife? (if written at all)
Thanks a lot

I just put a black micarta handle, w/ red spacers, on an F1. Mine doesn't say "Japan" on it anywhere. As long as it doesn't say "China", I'm doin' O.K. :D

I got a total of 6 Fallknivens and none of 'em says "made in japan" anywhere. But I did recall it says made in japan on the packaging.

All the Fällknivens are made in Japan, none in Sweden - as far as I know.

I thought some of the originals were made in Germany. Now all are made in Japan and the steel is a Japanese steel .They are nice !!

All Fallknivens are now made in Japan. Several reasons;

1. VG-10 is a steel that can only be made and used if the knife is made in Japan.
2. Price, it is much cheaper to make them in Japan than Germany or Sweeden.
3. The tools and machines that are used to make the knives are owned by Fallkniven.
4. Every knife is made to Fallknivens specs and their quality control.

Hope this helps. Fallkniven makes some of the best blades out there. Don't hesitate to buy one.

I have a F1 , with no markings of where it was made. I also have a U2 , and again no markings of where it was made.

Both are good buys , and with a little help from my Sharpmaker , they are both super sharp ( What else).

You cant go wrong getting these blades.

Yeah, they used to make them in Germany out of ATS-34. But not for a long while. The production is in Japan now.

I always thought that the country of manufacturing origin was required?
Dave.

I'm interested on buying one F1 but I've noted the little plastic guard on it: isn't it a little weak?

Not really, no. I've never heard of anyone having trouble with it. I don't see how the guard would ever be seriously stressed in normal use. It's not for knife fighting or any such thing anyway, so the only stress it's likely to have to deal with is from the user's fingers. And the guard can take that just fine.

Anything manufactured with Swedish quality supervision is of superior quality to about any product made by any other nationality.

This goes from cars, knives to cellphones.

imo
