Been reading a lot of good things on the forums lately about Fallkniven F1 . I own a Fallkniven FNNL5 Northern Light Series , and am wondering if the F1 has any advantages over the FNNL5 , been thinking about buying the F1 . Is there a big difference between the two ? The two knives are very similar in size . Any information would be appreciated .
Thanks ,

The F1 has a thicker tang than the northern lights version, just something to consider.

Suddenly, general discussion of knives is no longer appropriate subject matter for the "General Knife Discussion" board. Seems logical.

IMO your IDUN will do you fine. The standard F1 with the thermorun grip will give you better traction and grip when the knife is bloody or wet. I have the F1. If you wana trade let me know :D

I have both the Idun and F1. The Idun definitely has a slightly beefier feel, has a wider blade, and is better balanced. Yep, it gets slippery when wet, and yes, the tang is a stick tang. The F1 is lighter and I'm not a big fan of the handle because I find it too thin for my small/medium size hands. If gripping hard, it'll definitely give you blisters and hot spots over time. The Idun is aesthetically beautiful to look at, while the F1 is industrial looking. Both will feel comfortable in cold weather.

With a 3G blade - that's a fantastic steel ! Better by a good bit IMHO than the VG-10 .
