looking for any info on my knife. I have a Fallkniven F-1 knife with laminated VG-10 steel. The part I am having trouble identifying is the handle configuration. It has a black micarta handle that has a great contour and palm swell. There is no guard on this knife. It is full tang with the black micarta handle with two silver colored pins and a thong hole on the end of the handle. This is basically an upscale version of the standard zytel/plastic handle model. Was this knife a part of a small sprint run or could it be a custom one off? I would love to include pictures....if anyone could tell me how i will post pictures. i am new to this.

You will have to host your pictures through Photobucket, or a similar site.

There is a knife company that does re-handles on F1's. They are marketed through one dealer I know of, but am not sure if anyone else does...

^^^^ My thoughts, sounds like a rehandled F1....

Something like this?

Yeah, mine's the same, bought second hand and looks the part. 338375 has it right, there's one company that does the rehandled Fallkniven blade blanks but as I don't know if they are a forum supporter I won't name them. There are ways of working it out from info in this thread however.

I didn't know there were restrictions on asking values...but I did know about the restrictions on selling/trading. Thank you for letting me know.

Yep. No problem. You will get the hang of everything in time.

A micarta handled F1 does not have to be a custom. Fallkniven used to have a micarta handled version of the F1. I dont remember they made different guards though. If i remember correctly they came in different colors, black, white, maroon, green (?). It was a regular production knife, not sprint. Unfortunately has since been discontinued. It was a very nice knife, but extremely expensive.

Anything like this?

Your knife is made from the fulltang bladeblanks sold by Fällkniven for home completion.
You see the pointy tips on the logo oval?
The fully finished production F1's has an oval.

Some dealers buy the blanks and send them to a knifemaker to finish them with scales and sheaths.

Yours is a genuine Fällkniven laminated VG-10 blade for sure, so enjoy your knife as it will last a long time in hard service!

Regards
Mikael

I believe that is a Bark River handle on a Fallkniven knife. They do a lot of those. The original Fallkniven handles are like PropthePolecat's two in the top photo. I also own the white micarta handled one shown in his picture. Kind of expensive.

I bought a blank a few years ago and did this one with green micarta and brass corby bolts. I got the sheath from a dealer at a local gun show. I really like this one!
