Peter Hjortberger, owner of Fallkniven, says the Swedish knife company is up for sale. In an open letter in the July Blade magazine (page 40), Hjortberger explained:
[A]s a result of continuous bad health because of two heart attacks during fall 2004, I have decided to sell the Fallkniven company .... Since the inventory is large and fresh, the molds and tools, etc., are little used and with a good, worldwide reputation, we understand that a serious bid will pass 2 million US dollars. Sorry, there won't be any clearance sale or discounted quotes--if we don't get a serious bid, we will sell the products at standard quotes til the stock is zero.
