Fallkniven pronunciation.

i think its pronounced "dang thats a sharp knife!" :D :p:p

seriously though, i think its Fall-k-nife-n"

I dunno

John,
That doesn’t sound dumb at all. You’d be surprised how many guys who are ‘really knowledgeable’ about knives mispronounce this brand, if they even try at all.

According to a Swedish guy I know, the correct pronunciation is: Fell- ka- neeven.

thats close.. fall-k-knee-ven.. pronounced in two words.. fäll kniven

a sweed can go deeper into this :p
Amazing how we have all these pronunciation experts here. I guess the two people I talked to at their factory last month, who are Swedish, didn't even know how to pronounce their own company's name.

The word Fällkniven sounds like the words Fell-elk-knee-ven (Raven without Ra) put together to "FellKneeven".

Fällkniven means folding knife (or actually "that folding knife", as in "I want that folding knife".

Thank you for confirming it.

I don't think I will ever remember that. Why can't things be pronounced just how they sound?

I am going to start to write this down and say it regularly, maybe it'll help.

I always thought it was fall niven (as in David Niven). I've heard others pronounce it this way, too.

Well now I'm confused. Which one is it "Fell-elk-knee-ven" or "FellKneeven"?

Pronounciation:

Fäll [like the English "fell"]
kni [like the English "knee", BUT the "K" is pronounced]
ven [as it would be said in English]

FellKneeven

FellKneeven

That's right. No offense to english speakers but the most common "fall knaiven" pronouncement sounds horrible. ;)

Fäll = Fell, a kind of rugged moor or wilderness in Lappland. In otherwords, a first rate outdoor knife!
