There were some fairly ancient threads on this amazing knife and I didn't want to do a necro-bump. I just received my PXL about a half hour ago and this thing has exceeded my expectations. The fit and finish are perfect as you would expect from Fallkniven, but the PXL just oozes quality. It's going to kick some very nice folders out of the rotation, I'm afraid.

I used to have the PXL, and it was, as you say, an amazingly well built, high quality knife. Great steel, too.

The issue for me was the weight. At 6.2 oz, it's a heavy knife, especially when the blade is just 3.46 inches. The Military with a 4-inch blade is 4.2 oz, about a third less weight. Even the over-built ZT 0560 is less than 6 oz, and it has a longer blade made from heavier stock.

The PXL is basically a stainless steel framelock with Micarta scales. The scales make it a liner lock, but I'd guess it is one of the strongest liner locks made. But the stainless steel makes it heavy. Nonetheless, it is an extremely well made knife. It deserves more love than it gets.

I still kick myself for not grabbing one of these when Cuscadi had custom ones that were stonewashed with canvas micarta scales. They looked killer.

Yep... it's certainly heavier than many of my other knives but I don't think it's going to be an issue for me. My ZT 0301 sort of raised the bar for me regarding knife weight :D
