I picked up a S1 Forest Knife & A1 Survival Knife the other day. Wow, this is the first knife I have really used (besides my Victornix) with a Convex Ground blade. Damn, these are good cutters. I went to pick up a S1 to try, but could not resist the A1, just a tad longer but also thicker - impressive.
The new Black Nylon & Zytel Sheath is different, although I do wonder about durability with that little Zytel wing that locks the gaurd in. The A1 came with the Kydex sheath, but I think I do like the Zytel one better :thumbup:. The Zytel is a more compact design.
I knew I would like the Kraton, rubbery gripped handle since it works well on my SOG Tech Bowie. And if I ever have to replace it, it seems there are plenty of people on BF buying the models without the handles and outfitting them with custom scales.
I cannot believe I wanted so long to pick one of these up! I might have to pick up an A2 one day
