Hey all,

I’ve been thinking about getting a Fallkniven S1 as my next fixed blade.
I’ve played with the F1 and love it, but I wish it were a bit bigger.

I know I'll love the knife, and I would appreciate any reviews (good or bad) as well as pics of it in hand, in a sheath, on a belt ect. So I can get a good idea of what the knife will be like, to hold/ carry ect.

Thanks for the help guys; I hope I can get some pics out of this.

Don't have pics for you, but can tell you it's a great knife. Very well made. Great steel. Takes a great edge and tough as nails, while not being too big of a knife.

The handles are not kraton but thermorun. The difference ? Kraton as on my Cold Steel Master Hunter is a softer stickier rubber though my experience as a basic hunting knife it's excellent -good grip even when hands are cold and wet ! The Thermorun is harder and not sticky .Both of course are checkered.I haven't had the S-1 for too long but I have no doubt that it's a winner .It's too light for any serious chopping but very well made of excellent materials .Would baton very well .Probably the kife I would choose for all around camping and certainly for taking apart a moose or elk !

Hey Brad,

quickly took a shot for you with the S1 sheathed on my jeans.
Great knife, quality-wise it looks like it comes right out of a CNC machine. The Thermorun stuff is great, too.

The S-1 is OK, but if you need more than the F-1 go straight to the A-1. You'll be glad you did.

I have both with Kydex sheaths. The S1 is a bit over 1" longer than the F1. I do not have them in front of me but the S1 in it's sheath is significantly more than 1" longer than the F1 in it's sheath. F1 handle is a bit shorter than the S1, particularly on the blade side. I have large hands and both feel good. Handles are somewhat flat sided so does not feel as good as a more rounded handle.

Both are great knives.

I've had a S1 for several years now, it's a very good knife. Overall it's my favorite knife.

As someone mentioned it's too small for real chopping but apart from that it's good for just about anything.
