I've got some money burning a whole in my pocket as of late and want to pick up a new knife and I have narrowed it down to two knives; Either the Fallknieven S1 oor the Kizlyar Supreme (awesome name by the way) Savage. I love the look of both of these knives but my indifference is quite strong so a little input from you guys could help in my choice.

The way I see it there are pro's and cons to both knives.
The Savage pros:
-Less Expensive
-FFG (I prefer that over the convex)
-D2 one of my favored steels in edge retention
-Less popular (I get to know the knife for myself and not buy what others have told me)
-Kydex sheath

Cons:
-D2, While it holds a fantastic edge it has a habit of chipping in battoning
-Not the most comfortable looking handle
-Odd blade shape that could be hard to sharpen
-Not many reviews so it's a bit of a gamble buying one

The Fallkniven pros:
-Trusted company that brag to be the best of the best
-VG-10, one of my absolute favorite steels
-Simple blade shape
-Ergonomic handle

Cons:
-Reports of chipping with heavy use
-More expensive buy quite a bit
-Fine tip

What do you think? What would you spend your money on? I don't suppose anybody here owns both and would give me some advice.

Thanks,

~Jake

I have not owned the S1 but I have owned the A1, and I will tell you why I sold it. I just could not sharpen a convex edge properly. Other than that the A1 was a superb blade and I suspect the S1 is just as amazing. If you have no problem sharpening a convex blade go with the S1. For me, I just could not keep a blade I couldn't sharpen to a hair popping edge.

Yeah I know how to/have no issues sharpening convex edges but I do find it sorta a pain in the ass to do
