Fallkniven Tk3 MOP / ISSUE/ what would you do

hey guys,
I just received a stunning tk3 MOP.
While admiring it, I noticed some tiny imperfections where the scale meets the metal.
Apologies that I do not know how to post pics here.

The MOP scales have tiny, tiny 'chips'... when I say tiny, I mean TINY, but evident. I would say about 1/3mm and several of them in a row creating well, tiny chips in a row... and you can see them with the naked eye. But only if you try hard. But isn't that what we do? Stare at these things, as well as use them?

And if you run your fingernail along the scale, along the top of the knife, it is rough there, and your nail drags a little.

I turned the knife over, blade side, and saw more of the same but not quite as evident. (Now I started using a magnifying glass)

OK! I know this is a knife and not a diamond ring or a gold watch... BUT... on the other hand... it's a nice knife! And pricey.

Should I expect this with natural materials? How much imperfection is acceptable?:jerkit:

I have never owned an MOP scaled knife.

Otherwise, this knife is about as stunning as a knife can be, in my opinion. the MOP is GORGEOUS as can be. The whole knife's Fit and finish is outstanding. And having owned a U1 for quite a while now, and carried it daily, I have huge love for Fallkniven.

What do you think? Keep or return? (I bought it to carry it, use it, and enjoy it.)

Thanks.

As You bought it as a user/Gentlemans pocket knife, only You can decide if You want to keep it.

I think this issue can be fixed with very fine grit wet/dry sandpaper and polishing with compound.

As the MOP is to Your liking, maybe this is the way for You.
Otherwise I would say return it!

I have had the TK 3 MOP and it was stunningly beautiful!
I gifted it to my son, but I wouldn't mind another one.

Regards
Mikael

I would say, that if it bothers you, return it and ask for another one. You probably paid hefty amount of money for it so you should get as good as it gets.

Yep I agree, already on the return.

I will probably go for black oak now.

Truth is, if the MOP was right, I'd have kept it very happily. But having seen it in person now, it may also be a bit on the flashy side. Stunningly beautiful, but a little flashy, and I do carry any knife I own, except for the larger ones.

Well, again thanks. Appreciate this forum, tho I don't post all that much!

Nothing wrong with a pretty knife. However, at $500 retail it should be perfect. I have one MOP that's a custom slipjoint (for $250) and it's as smooth as a baby's bottom. I'd have sent it back as well.
