Hi All,
How does the lamenat steel used in this knife compare to S30V in terms of edge holding and sharpness?
The blade laminated VG10 steel, where the edge is made of VG10 steel and the sides consist of tough 420J2 steel.

I would rather have S30V, but I'm pretty sure that laminated VG-10 is nothing to turn down, and Fallkniven is an excellent knife company.

Hi madcap_magician, Thanks for the reply.
The reason I asked is because someone told me that The laminated edge of this knife is sharper and actually holds an edge better than s30v. I was surprised by what he said but he stands by it.

The TK4 has a laminated blade with SGPS in the middle, and VG2 on the outside.

It easily out performs S30V for cutting ability, but is probably a bit more brittle.

SGPS is at least as good as ZDP189, and, IMO, probably better.

Well, I said that primarily because I have experience with S30V and much less experience with Fallkniven's laminate steel. And being the mean-spirited conservative that I am, I'm loathe to change things. :D
