Does anyone have a Fallkniven U1? If so a picture would be appreciated. Would also interests me is:
Mod. U1 lacks a blade lock. This means that, in many countries, it will most likely be considered as a pocket knife, and therefore be allowed to be carried in public places, with the exception for restaurants, sports arenas and school grounds. The blade is instead held in place with an springsteel key, a technique which has been in use for more than 100 years and which ensures that the blade does not fold.
The website says it does not have a lock and yet talks about a springsteel key, what is that?

The U1 is a non-locking slipjoint just like a Swiss Army Knife or Case Pocket Knife.

It means it's a normal slipjoint.

One of my favorites!

That is a beautiful knife. Thanks for pictures and the comparison to the SAK.

No problem!
I think this knife would shine with full scales and bolsters! The spring tension is littlebit weak - and was slight letdown at first - but when you use it, you start to appreciate it. It's buttersmooth and hasn't needed anykind of oiling or cleaning at all. The torx pivot also haven't had need any kind of adjustment. Perfectly centered blade, has been used for light office and camp whittling.
