Anybody know anything about the Fallkniven U2 folder? Blade is a laminate Super Gold Powder Steel (SGPS) - never heard of it. Shows hardness rating of 62 & following composition: C - 1.4. Si - 0.5. Mn - 0.4. P - 0.3. Cr - 15. Mo - 2.8. S - 0.3. V - 2.0.

I have one, and it is a great little knife! It is wicked sharp. It is so sheeple friendly. I like it a whole lot.

Is it difficult to sharpen with a hardenss of 62? Does the locking mechanism appear especially sturdy?

I haven't the first clue as to how to sharpen, so I can not help you there. And YES, the locking mechanism seem very sturdy!!

the steel of u2 i,i think ,it is better or same as sv30,60.....
BUT PRICE OF U2 IS COMPARATIVELY CHEAPER .
FOR ADVANCED GRADE ,TK 3 & TK4 WHICH ARE MADE OF 3G STEEL .
I have u2 ,tk3,tk4 .
plse notify its hardness is similar to hss m2 .
grinding usually by diamond ,then by fine ceramic.
anyway, as its hardness, seldomly sharpening ...

Agreement with TheKnifeCollector.

Mine seems to be holding its edge well and, therefore, haven't had to sharpen it yet. But when I do go to sharpen it, I'll be using the old standby Spyderco ceramics (which I use for my BM M2 knives with no difficulty). I suspect I'll have to strop this blade, though, to re-attain its factory edge (or sharper).

Haven't tested the lock excessively as it's a wee little knife by my standards (which is why I bought it). It has passed the usual tests (big spine whack, rapid light spine whacks, rapid heavy spine whacks, twist with closing force, etc.).
