Hi there,

I'm looking for a good mid size single edge fighting knife. Twoo knives have retain my attention : Cold Stee magnum tanto and Falkniven A1
Witch is the best and why ?

Thanks for replies !

Fallkniven hands down. Steel's better, construction is better, company is more reputable.

Who ya fighting?

I hate to sound like a broken record here, but Fällkniven is far superior. Their knives are made for heavy use, not covert deanimation operations. ;)

Get the Fallkniven. It's better made and has better steel. I have a few Cold Steel knives but I have more then a dozen Fallkniven models and everone of them has come to me perfectly made. I have my A1 piggybacked with an F1 so I have a big knife and a smaller knife at my fingertips.

Do the Fallkniven!! :) :D

Go with Fallkniven, then again, I don't recommend any type of knife altercation unless you have a great insurance program and don't mind unsightly scars.

Fallkniven  . Cold steals kind of, um .... snap in half when you use them

Of the two, you'll get better service from the Falkniven. Now if you had considered one of the older Cold Steel Carbon V SRKs, the decision might not be as clear cut.

The A-1 is an excellent knife. You could surely hurt someone with it - severely. Fallkniven does, however, make a purpose-built fighting knife -- a double-edged weapon with balance more back towards the hand. "Gorm Fighter," I think it's called. All depends on what you want to do.

Never saw a picture of a fallkniven in 2 pieces before...

So what? Maybe people baby their Fallknivens, since they cost more than the SRK. And I doubt there are nearly as many Fallknivens out there as SRKs, also.

Thats what went through my mind when I was choosing over an F1 or a Master Hunter. Now, I opted for the MH because their Carbon V is great, and I like carbon over stainless for a belt knife, so when I found the MH, might I add at a lower price than the F1, I bought it.

In this case though, go with fallkniven, no doubt.

Check the pictures on the 2nd post from this thread from Johnwaynesdw:

An SRK in 2 pieces sits beside the machete. Apparently broke doing some under a little baton work...

aside the fact thats a Recon tanto, unfortunatly what you say makes no diffrence. How many busses have you seen broken, doesnt mean they cant be, right?

every thing is going to have a breaking point, sorry.

everything has its breaking point, but from what i have seen and read, cold steel's is sooner than other comparably priced knives.

and ill jump on the bandwagon and say get the fallkniven.
