Fallkniven Wiki

Maybe give a link to Noss4's site in order to show one of them working? This would add substance and give more qualitative info.

What about getting the ladies of the Swedish Bikini Team to do a report on the Fallkniven WM1?

I did some additions and added some links.
I could not make the references to work properly though.
The links point to the right place but they are not "connected" with the reference numbers.
I also tried to add a list of special edition knives. I wanted it to be in table looking thing but it ended up in a row.

I have pictures of the different models on my page if anyone is interested.

Great job! lookin' good.

EDIT: I found one problem, the F1 picture is actually the newer version <?> it says LAM.VG10 on the blade and appears to be convex. so I'll fix that up. :)

Yes, it says that it is lam VG10, BUT that picture is not correct. It is a computer generated version of how the knife should look like when it was released as a Lam VG10. The big logo vanished with the release of the convex grind blades in 2001. Why Fallkniven has not changed it, I dont know.
Look at the Fallkniven collection page (which by the way happens to be mine :) ) and you will see the difference.
No worries, you are not the first to be confused. It has become a problem for people, like me, who collect the F1s. On Ebay they all look like the old model F1s but when you look closely the use the fake picture.
It is quite strange that people who sell them doesnt start to wonder when the logo is small on the box and small on the knife, why then use a big logo as a picture.
Even big knife web shops like knifeworks and others keep confusing people.

From your link I went to:

So I was wondering, what's the deal with Linder Solingen?
Did they manufacture the initial ATS-34 version or did they simply made rip-offs? (I know they still do ATS-34 knives that look a lot like early F1, but could simply be them finding some use for their tools).

lol. Thanks for the informative reply, it is a tad confusing. :D :)

The original 200 + 10000 + 15000 + 500 ATS34 F1 knives were made by Linder in Germany, hence the Solingen marking on the backside of the blade (opposite the M-number). Total F1s made by Linder for Fallkniven should then be 25700 where the first 200 are handmade and with micarta handle.

At one time Linder made a rip-off of the whole shebang. They copied the knife (not hard since they made it in the first place) and the box and everything and sold it as their own. I have not seen any rip-offs and do not know how many they made.

Fallkniven then went to Japan for the VG10 steel and since then the knives are manufactured by (I dont remember the name) in Japan.
in late 2001/early 2002 the convex blade was introduced. First with an all VG10 blade and later with laminated VG10.

It is easy to tell the F1 knives from each other.
If it has a male/iron sign on it it is one of the 200 first. I have not seen any of those.
If it has no markings it will have the M-number and is the first model to the AF. I have some of those.
If it has the big logo it is flatgrind ATS34 or VG10. I have lots of those too.
If it has the small logo it is convex VG10 or laminated VG10. I also have these.
If it has the small logo with Test Series it is one of the 110 F1s with 3G steel (that later appeared in the H1 and WM1). I have two :)

The Linder ATS34 Custom knife and the ATS34 Superedge 1 looks like the F1 and has the same sheath as the first AF models had.

Early A1 knives could be bought with a cordura sheath with a red A1 sign on the sheath. The logo on the A1 was also red.
Early S1 knives etc etc but yellow.
The cordura sheaths were discontinued because Fallkniven was not happy with the quality. Some rare ones surface on places like Ebay or the swedish equivalent tradera.

All knives were once also available with a kydex sheath. Nowadays only the MC1 and the F2 might come with that sheath.
There are two versions of the F1 kydex sheath. They both had holes but on the early ones they didnt match for the TekLok so one had to drill an extra hole.
The grey plastic airforce sheath is not available to the public except "liberated" from the AF.
There are also two leather sheaths for the H1, one has a small zytel insert and the newer one has a bigger zytel insert almost resembling the AF sheath.
Unfortunately I dont have exact dates for the release of all the knives but a search on those sites that save old pages might give som help.
The S1 however was released on easter 1998 if I dont remember totally wrong, it was easter anyway.
