I must say that I really like these knives. As a budding collector, I have decided I would like to go and purchase the entire northern lights series (excluding the Idun in Cowry X, I dont think the $$$ is worth it).

I was wondering if anybody has anything to say about these knives? I really dig the looks, and they are convex grind with laminated VG-10 steel, so they fall right into this convex kick I am on right now

So ya, whaddya think?

(This is fun! I have since started looking for entire catalogs to buy. After this, the entire Fehrman lineup is next :D)

Thanks

I suggest buying in person if possible. I had ordered a Thor - it was a beautiful monster, perfect... almost, except that the blade was warped! Not a huge warp, but noticeable and not acceptable on a high price knife. I have other Fallknivens that are near perfect.

As you can tell by my signature this post will be encouraging you to proceed with your quest for Fallkniven's.

I too am working toward owning most of the Fallkniven line up in my collection. I also have several Fallkniven daily use knives, I like them a lot and I'm very comfortable recommending them.

They aren't the only great knife out there, but they hold their own against the best production knives available today.

I own the NL4, NL5, and NL5cx. Like all Fallkniven knives they are top notch, but these models are part of my collection, not use knives, so I can't speak to how they perform in the real world. (just fine I'm sure, based on my experience with my other Fallkniven's)

I agree with you on the NL5cx, I was fortunate to get mine at a good price, before Fallkniven's 30% increase, but it was still a very pricey knife. I have all but given up on owning the new HK9cx because of the price.

RLR makes a good point about buying in person, that's always the prefered way, but I don't have a local Fallkniven retailer near by and have purchased all mine on-line with no problems.

One of my PXL's had a pocket clip break, contacted Fallkniven and they sent a new clip, no questions asked. (they had a bad batch of clips on their first production run)

Go for it and enjoy!

I have my cross hairs on the small northern lights (Idun, I think). It looks like a wicked all purpose blade and I have wanted to try a fallkniven for a number of years now.
