Fallkniven's teflon coating

I was wondering what people think of the teflon coating that fallkniven puts on their knives. Is it durable? Does it offer significant protection from the elements (particularly in coastal areas)? Also, I've seen on fallkniven's web page that their knives now come with kydex sheaths, does anybody know where those are available in the US?

The conventional wisdom on teflon coatings is that they look like hell after a lot of use, but still provide the extra corrosion resistance (and subdued appearance, if that's tactically important to you). VG10 doesn't need a lot of help in the corrosion resistance department, according to Sal at Spyderco.

Now I have to call LagaNet and ask more questions about Kydex!!!

If its any assurance the Norwegian Navy SEALs have recently tested both satin and Teflon coated A1s and are officially issuing both to their NATO forces.

James:

The kydex sheaths will be availablefor all models in late November/early December. Prices are a bit more than about double that of the regular sheaths.
