Fallout New Vegas Machete Gladious – Just Released
Hi all. Just completed this custom order, influenced from the game Fallout; New Vegas. Will be adding to the website soon and will be making a video on it.

Shop Details:
1095 High Carbon Spring Steel. Steel is Heat Hardened & quenched in oil. Heat Tempered @ 500 degrees for 2 hours, and letting it air cool.

Measurements:
Total Length = 24 ”
Blade Length = 17 ¼ “
Blade Width = 3 ¾ ” widest
Blade Thickness = 3/16 “
Handle Length = 6 ¾ ”
Handle Width = 1 ½ “ widest
Handle: Walnut
Weight = 3 lb

I think you do it a disservice by calling it a machete. That thickness makes it a large knife, or a short sword. Thicker than machetes!

When a lot of people think machete, they think of a thin, very flexible blade.

I bet at 3/16 that blade is plenty stiff and strong!

I would love to chop something with that!
 
Thanks guys for the comments. I would have liked to have chopped something with it but, I was afraid I'd ruin the finish and have to refinish it :) You're right, it's not real machete like. It's much heavier and stronger.
 
You could definitely wack a limb or head off with that thing. I think they need one on The Walking Dead!

Pray that we never need to carry blades like that for critters like those.
