Here is an idea; I haven't tryed it yet but just throw it out for discussion.(shops to cold to work) Looking at a metal stamping set, it looks like it might be a good way to make false file work on the handle edge of a full tang blade. Seems to me that if the work was stamped from an angle to the handle edge one might be able to achieve some nice pattern work. Obvously the handle would require flatting after the pattern is stamped as it moves the metal up as well as out. In addition a spring loaded center punch might make the work more interesting still. Has anyone ever tryed this? Please let me know what you think. G2

Gary, you mean a set of letter stamps???

Take care!! Michael

Always think of your fellow knife makers as partners in the search for the perfect blade, not as people trying to compete with you and your work!

Yeah. I have a small set of letter / number stamps. Think of all the different pattern that could be made from O,V,U,I,J,Z,L,T,E,W,C,Y,X,0,1,2,3,6,7,8,& 9 Patterns could be made that would be impossiable with a file. Throw in some ... form a spring loaded center punch and it could be realy interesting.
