I have purchased a Leatherman Charge TTI
but the registered mark is missing.
There is no Lettet R or TM signature on a handle.
Is it fake Tool or it is factory mistake?

Seller told me:

"I cannot explain it. You are right, compared to my other charge TTi's it is missing the registered mark. Not sure why the difference."

Looks real to me; may be a mistake. I haven't run across any fake Leathermans. What's it dated? If it's newer it's possible they changed the stamping.

Probably a factory error, or maybe even change. When swisstools stopped putting the swiss symbol on the pliers people thought those were fakes too, but it turned out it was a change.

I have two TTi, one old and one just bought. Now I gotta go check mine.

My TTi has the ® after LEATHERMAN and after Charge. Maybe it's newer?

I'd inquire with Leatherman.

I'd also ask the seller if they'd be willing to exchange it for one that does have them.

Only one is in focus, but both mine have the R symbol. Those scales are cast Ti, I wonder if they are a new mold. The dates on mine are 0510 and 0512.

Hello,

I work in product development for Leatherman. You do have a Leatherman Charge TTI and I have to say you (all of you) are way more observant about this change than I expected. The registered marks were removed from the die of this model only recently and this was done to improve the titanium scale. The registered marks were causing a visual defect in the casting and the final part that we found objectionable.

I hope that answers your question and that you enjoy your Leatherman Charge TTI.

I had heard this on another forum, but it was still a rumor. Thanks for the info!
