thanks a lot, KHHI. instead of declaring the real value of the product (around 50 bucks and 30 bucks shipping) i've purchased and paid for, you seem to have written some fantasy number (12 bucks) in the value-field, making the customs of my country suspicious. now i'm in big trouble with the bureaucracy and probably will never get my khukuri :(
please, dear KHHI-staff, declare the actual paid value, i really don't care about paying some extra taxes as long as i actually recieve my product, which apparently will never happen now. well, there go my 80 bucks...

You do realise that Himalayan Imports had nothing to do with this?
We are not affiliated with KHHI in any way.

Sorry for your troubles, but you will have to take that up with Khukuri House.

Hm. Interesting.Good luck to your KHHI product.
Welcome to HI (without the KH)
which you have gone into a wrong forum anyway.

Your best bet would be to contact KHHI and aprise them of the situation. Have them contact customs and ask that your Item be returned to them and Issue you a refund. Otherwise customs will probably destroy the product and You and KHHI will both be left out in the cold. At the very least KHHI should probably issue a refund anyways, as it was their mistake.

hi karda
looks like he just saw the hi put 2&2 together come up with 5 and didnt check any further
thank god we dont ever have that problem with aunty and h.i. blimiyorum if you ever read this
buy any future kuks from here at h.i. and i,ll guarantee you will never have this problem again
deal with a company that really cares about its customers its a desition you will not regret
ask any of the folkes here and you,ll not find one person here has had a major problem with aunty or h.i
and any problems that do occur have been easily sorted by aunty usually the the complainants?? advantage
give h.i a try tell you what if you buy a kuk from h.i. and you have a problem like you had at khhi
i,ll eat hay with a donkey (even video it and post here)lols

That's a bummer for sure.

When you buy from HI Auntie has already delt with customs and your knife is shipped out from Reno NV. I live in So Ca and I always get my knives in 2 days, 3 days has been my longest wait.

Welcome to the forum. Please stick around and you will discover that not only are HI knives worlds better but they (in many cases) are less expensive when you pick up a DOTD. (Deal of the Day)

Yeah that's a real shame. I have tried not to let my bias toward HI cloud my recommendations when people ask for khuk information, but there is just no comparison between the level of customer service and quality you get from Yangdu Martino.

Let us know if there is anything else we can do to help.

Probably not applicable. "Bilmiyorum" is Turkish for "I don't speak" and he's talking about customs coming into his country, not within the US.

I'm really sorry for blaming the wrong company. My honest apologies to HI (which just has been promoted to my next khuk deliverer ;) ). What a stupid mistake. You may lock or delete this apparently off-topic thread if you like (or leave it for anti-advertisement against your competitor :) ). Btw. Bilmiyorum means "I don't know" or "I can't" iirc, "I don't speak" would be "konuşmuyorum", but I might be wrong there - as a swiss, my turkish is far from good (as is my english)...

A lot of "newbies" to the Kukri world make this same word mistake: They see HI online and their next time online they see KHHI. "Oh, that's Himalayan Imports, I saw them earlier". The confusion is magnified by all the other similar names like Khukuri (Khukri) House, Khukuri House Thamel, Nepalese Khukuri House Pvt Ltd., Ex-Gurkha Khukuri House (EGKH), and Khukuri House Himalayan Imports (KHHI).

Like a light bulb, some are better than others. Some are brighter some last longer, others have newer technology in them to make them more efficient, etc. This includes the actual blacksmith (Kami) and the scabbard maker. Some are better than others and also you will have the few really outstanding Kamis.
With Kukris made in Nepali (from what I've read) many Khukuri Houses lower their standards to make/same money. This would include bad working conditions, lower quality control, bad heat treating, using underaged kamis (see picture below), and so on.

You can get a great Khukuri from a Khukuri House but because of the above facts and/or "business tactics" you can also get a piece of junk. I agree with my brothers in that "Himalayan Imports" run by Yangdu Martino and moderated by Karda (that's not his real picture by the way) is one of the very top Khukuri makers. In my opinion your best bet now is to pickup a "Deal of the Day" (DOTD) in the forum and see how you like the company.
