Hi,
I wanted to make a small test between Howling rat and Badger Attack E., after I had used my howling rat now well three months. In this little contest i want to proof the both allrounder by working on wood and in kitchen. So a kind of family duel.:D

I was surprised, as well the rat strikes itself against the nearly twice as heavy Badger. A chopping of a 7cm ( 2.8 inches)of strong beech branch needed approx. 100 light impacts, the Badger of 60 impacts. But splitting a 18cm (7 inches) strong and 36cm (14 inches)of high block could do both well.:D For kitchen work the Rat is really better, because of the weight.:p

The photos to the test are to be found under

Nice pictures, how did you drive the knives so far point first into the wood? How did you get them out?

Hi Cliff,

The first strike had been done with my hand, the next by the chopped branch of beech. I hit the handle until the blade was parallel to the ground. One more strike and the blade comes out. As the blade vanished in the wooden block, i try to lever it. That i did on the top and the bottom, until the block did burst.
