I'm sorry, I just don't ever think that a knife like that is worth it.
How much is a standard Lochsa with a damascus blade? Let's say $1000, maybe? Then, I'm sure you could get another knifemaker to customize it for you for $500 TOPS, and you'll have saved at least $600. Of course, Scott Cook won't have done this work, but there it is. And I REALLY have to disagree that it is in a league of it's own. Respectfully, many other knifemakers do work that is equally great.
Wow, that is nice ! Food for thought! If I could get a titanium supplier to sell or make me a channel shaped titanium with with a bit over 1/8 of an inch gap(for the blade and bushings) I could very well make a one piece folder also, no??:foot:
Well, when I ordered my Lochsa, it is tip up carry and right handed, with dual thumb studs. I am really looking forward to it's arrival!
And no you couldn't make one a precise as Scott Cook does.
And Boats, the handle is titanium.
You completely missed the point of my post. IMO, he is charging way too much for the sparse embellishments. I just checked and you can get a VERY nicely decorated DDR knife for $1500. AND you could even pick the shape of the blade and handle to suit you.Wow, that is nice ! Food for thought! Yes, but not to the precision that Scott's knife is.
