That is a beautiful Locsha! But, that is NOT a standard Locsha. There is gold and MOP inlay, along with a Damascus blade.
I am looking forward to the arrival of mine, sometime next year.

He did use to work in Chris Reeves' shop; his shop foreman, I think. The Locsha is carved out of one piece of titanium.

I'm sorry, I just don't ever think that a knife like that is worth it.
How much is a standard Lochsa with a damascus blade? Let's say $1000, maybe? Then, I'm sure you could get another knifemaker to customize it for you for $500 TOPS, and you'll have saved at least $600. Of course, Scott Cook won't have done this work, but there it is. And I REALLY have to disagree that it is in a league of it's own. Respectfully, many other knifemakers do work that is equally great.

The price they're talking about here is not Scott's price. Your talking secondary market or should I say mark(up) price. I've had several Lochsa's. Nice folders. Worth every bit of what S. Cook charges for one, but not what purvayors are asking. Factor in wait time and most will pay the difference not to wait.

Wow, that is nice ! Food for thought! If I could get a titanium supplier to sell or make me a channel shaped titanium with with a bit over 1/8 of an inch gap(for the blade and bushings) I could very well make a one piece folder also, no??:foot:

Bah. Right hand only tip-up carry? I can get more carry options than that spending about $50.00 on a Spyderco Endura 4 in VG-10.;)

FRN is way grippier than MOP.

Yes, but not to the precision that Scott's knife is.

Well, when I ordered my Lochsa, it is tip up carry and right handed, with dual thumb studs. I am really looking forward to it's arrival!

And no you couldn't make one a precise as Scott Cook does.

And Boats, the handle is titanium.

Yes, I saw that. I was only kidding. I'd love to have a Lochsa, but I'd use it a lot, maybe even break it, and people here would get on my case about it.;)

What!?! Do ya use Van Gogh's for kindling too do ya?:D

You completely missed the point of my post. IMO, he is charging way too much for the sparse embellishments. I just checked and you can get a VERY nicely decorated DDR knife for $1500. AND you could even pick the shape of the blade and handle to suit you.
Again, this is just my opinion.

man so much bitchin bout prices lately...the market is there for it , else it wouldnt be priced what it is.
Ever tried to actually score a Loscha at a show ? When the doors open you better run , cause if you blink.... you lose.
As with all the makers who are hot , scoring a knife from them is one price , to get one on the secondary is gonna cost you , try to score an Onion , Galyean , Lee Williams or Loveless on the secondary....
supply and demand.

Is that knife worth it ? too me , I think so. Its that much different from a standard Loscha to command that price. Dweikum ( EDCKnives ) is one of the fairest dealers I have met , he dont price his stuff with the intent to have it sit around in inventory.

Sure you could buy a standard Loscha and have it modded , but then it wouldnt be a COOK custom , it would be a pimped custom , and nobody who is buying a Loscha would do that ( my guess anyways ). Price out the materials and the extra work , and the wait....

I would like to take a step back, IMO anyone who takes a function first knife conceived and executed under the minimalism ideal and perfection of quality, then tarts it up like a cheap bordello queen needs their head examined.

lol DaveH.

Very nice looking knife , but it will never be used for anything more than weighing down some felt.

There was a similar knife on Scott's web site that was recently auctioned off. The price actually started at $900 and ended at around $1,800.

No better way to set prices then to let the customers set them. IMO

Plaza cultery has a few $2500+ knives, very nice not a practical blade shape.
