Thought I'd go ahead and try posting here even though my work isn't as refined as much as most here seem to like. This is my take of a Nessmuk with added wrought iron fittings and an ass backwards taper of sambar stag. The blade was forged from a piece of old dragsaw blade steel. Its got a 5 5/8" blade and its 10 1/2" overall.

hi ray - please do post here! while i wouldn't call your work high-gloss i wouldn't call it un-refined either. the wrought iron fittings that i see on a lot of your pieces lend a great old-world feel to your work, and you always seem to get great pieces of stag too. the antique finish i see on some of your blades is also very cool - matches up nicely with the fittings.

how's the rebuild of the shop coming?

Nice compliment to the knife, the horse shoe adds something of a rustic look. The design is the art. I like it, more than a lot of the fancier damascus stuff.

I agree that there is NO reason not to post your work. I sure like diversity.

You have a rare 'look' that few makers can emulate and fewer can pull off. I love the natural fittings and the stag tapers, and your crowns are incredibly handsome.

This one is not as empowering to me as your fighters, but it sure looks as well made.

Keep 'em coming Ray!

RR, that is slicker than snot on a doorknob.
Looks like Nessmuk meets Puma White Hunter.
And I mean that in the best way possible.

Your knives a (as the knifemag writer said) "Face"
And it is a good one.

As far as the shop/barn rebuild goes I've been letting the weather get in the way plus I made a hole in the garage but not by burning a hole in the roof but for a place to work and its actually been working. Biggest problem I'm having is having to get hay every couple weeks and then keeping it dry before it gets eaten. Still not 100% on the structure I'm going to build. I have gotten permits and plans for one building but living in the county I'm in there's lots of stipulations for enviroment issues and it might just be simpler to do a pole building simular but better than what I had. We still got another 3 months of wet weather at least before it starts to dry out. I've seen it rain all the way to August some past years.

Thanks for the few reply's on this post! Its nice not to have an instant burrial. I may be able to come up with some better photo's in the future. I'm still not able to capture what I'm after with my lacking skills with a camera. Space is a major issue.

That is really a fine knife! Good work, and do post some more. The horseshoe underneath is a nice touch.

I hope my luck doesn't run out since I got the horse shoe turned the wrong way. BTW that shoe is wrought iron. I've never run across one as old as that.
