this is my first attempt at a "makers mark" I need to get one that I like so far I have had no luck. This one just has my last name. The script font is one a guy at work did so I decided to humor him and stick it on it.

I should have cleaned the knife better prior to pictures. The camera is my biggest critic, it shows everything.

You are right about the wood! It is fancy. The knife looks to be real comfy in the hand! Does the sheath have a welt? It is hard to tell from the pics, but it does not look like it. If not - be careful!

It does not have a welt. I got ahead of myself and left it out. Lesson learned. I guess I know what I will be doing tonight.

Very nice.
I bought some of that Redwood as well. How did you prepare and finish it?
It turned out beautifully.

Thanks,
Dave

Sanded to 400 grit
it had a lot small pits in it so at this point so I tried somethind different. I massaged in rubber/contact cement and let it dry. Once that dried I sanded it down to 600 leaving the cement in the voids only. For the final step I applied an oil finish (2parts tung oil 1 part boiled linseed).
