Really sweet rig super detailed! Function in Art!

I have been looking at a few exposed spine sheathes from a few different makers, for my 1311. Is there any performance gain in durability, retention, or deployment of blade? When it comes to using the original exposed spine, to other exposed spine kydex/holstex sheathes?

Keep up the great work! USPSA guys/gals would love this for sure!

Open spine sheaths are great for blades like khukri's or exaggerated blade shapes where inserting and removing the blade shape through a small opening becomes a problem, thats were they really shine IMO.

e-mail me and I will help you out.

Not directed at you, just my take;

My Mama taught me if you do not have anything nice to say, say nothing at all.

e-mail me and I will help you out.
Hey brother hope that's not directed at my post. I'm a big fan of your sheaths. I was just stating where I thought they shined, of course they can be used with any blade style if one prefers the look.

Nope not directed at anyone.
I love all my HOG brothers.

I just hate the fact my design is being ripped off without my permission kind of a sore subject.

Like the talon hole being ripped off. :)

lets get this back on track

Not to jump back off topic, but I came up with an open spine kydex sheath without ever seeing pictures of one... It's kind of a basic concept most people would think of if they needed to fit an oddly shaped blade into a sheath. Be proud if you were the first to do it, but don't get upset when people agree that it's a smart idea and use it.

I will say you do them better than anyone else I've seen... Those things are impressive.

Really like your work! I'm short and fat at 5'6", 200 pounds. I recently bought a Boss Jack proto with a fuller and small choil. Carrying it on my hip in a kydex sheath is really the best way for me to carry it. However, I'm having issues with having to pull the knife up so high to get it in and out of the sheath. If I put it down lower, it'll dig into whatever I'm sitting on when I sit down. The open spine design seems like it would take care of this issue I'm having. What do you think? Would you do a Boss Jack sheath like that?

Oh yeah!!!!! :thumbup:
That "New takes forever version" is totally AWESOME looking Dave!!!!!!!!!!!!! :eek: :D
