This is a bit fancier than I normally would choose. It caught my eye. By Japanese maker Hiroo Itou, got it a couple of weeks ago & makes a great edc for me, it has a wciked sharp edge.
Mammoth scales, turquise & giraffee bone bolsters.
Stainless liners.

R2 powdered high-speed tool steel core blade edge and forge-sandwiched with 32 layered stainless Damascus steel.

Apparently he worked with Kobe Steel to develop R2 steel.

Fit & finish is very good. The scales & bolsters are rounded
Cheers

Thanks gents:thumbup:

I really like using it. You know when you find a knife that feels right, we've all been there.
Nice friction folder. Do you carry that in a pocket sheath?

Yes, I have several friction folders & carry them in leather slip case.

Hey I like that. Looks like a user to me. I bet it's comfortable in the hand.

Wow! What an brilliant deviation from the "norm" without looking too gaudy or overdone (as I sometimes feel happens with "fancy knives"). I like it very much.

That looks like a very nice piece. Congratulations! I always liked the look of those Japanese friction folders. I think I can hear my wallet crying out in pain as I type this :P

Has a new 1 now:D I thought about it at the time, but the wife keeps telling me I have enough sheaths, she could be right but we'll keep that quiet.I can't remeber last time I made anything for myself.

Anyway I was going through my scrap box last week & made this, more a frame, than sheath as it's wider to help stay upright in pocket & full thick welt. As it can double as a stand to show blade off. Done in oxblood with very high gloss finish. Pics aren't the best.

This knife style is called a higonokami. It is a traditional Japanese friction folder. You have a little treasure there, Mitch.
