I found this Winchester single blade and was wondering if it
was some sort of special edition,etc?...Looks like it has brandin fancy
scroll, etc. on the blade....I can not read it to good, picture so blurry.

I was thinking maybe someone here would have a better picture and
some details as to what it is?

If it's better suited for the black box thread I don't mind it being moved, since I was not
sure if it was black box I started here....This is the only pics i have right now......

thanks for any help,info,etc....
sincerely,
JD

You can message me here as well.

I can't add anything, but the hafting on the bone looks like the type done on some german made knives...fat with sharp tapers at the bolsters.

Nice piece though!

I think I've seen this one previously. IIRC, it's a German made reproduction that was part of a set. I don't recall if the reproduction was authorized or unauthorized. It's not made by Queen.

+1 "THE KENTUCKIAN" and "THE TENNESSEAN".

Man the knowledge of knives here on the porch never ceases to blow me away. If you're a dumb novice like myself just pull up a chair and sit down for a while because as we say here in the south "you're a fixing to get edgeecated"

I think you're right......Looks as though someone cleaned the gold out of the
letters though.......Still be a good lookin knife once it's properly cleaned with the E/O
beside it....

I started to buy one a while back but decided that the gold made it unsuitable to carry no matter how much I wanted to. :D

Very similar to a gunstock I have which was made by Olbertz in Solingen, Germany in the late '70s. Very high quality knives.

Man that deep etch looks fantastic, minus the gold even better, and the bone looks great.
