Fang Sheath Mod w/pics

I've come upon a way to increase my carry options with the Fang neck knife by at least four and I'd like to share it with you folks. It only took about ten minutes to do and I think some of you who haven't thought of it already will like it as much as I do. What this mod does is allow you to carry the knife with a 45-degree cant in any direction, upright or inverted.

All I did was drill an extra hole in the clip, midway between the two lower holes (with the open end of the clip pointing downward) and approximately 1/8" above the centerline of the other holes. Rather than trying to measure it all out and try to keep everything straight, I laid the sheath on top of the clip and marked the drilling location with a permanent marker. I only had one shot at this since I only have the one clip that came with the knife, but everything came off beautifully.

Here's a link to the pictures I promised.

Thanks again Bob for a wonderful product!

Thanks Gonesailing. I just used plain old, garden variety paracord for the handle, going through the holes where it made sense. Took me about three tries before I got it to where I was happy with it. No epoxy either, you never know when five or six feet of paracord is going to come in handy. Believe me though, I scanned the knife from its best side as far as the wrapping goes

By the way, I did the wrapping while the knife was in the sheath. Don't want anyone giving themselves a migraine trying to get the wrapping to line up with the edge of the sheath LOL

Shades,

Good job. I thought the same for another knife and rigged it up for an inside the jacket carry by drilling extra holes in the kdex clip.

Thanks Sing. This is the only concealment FB in my collection and it seems as if there's just no end to the carry options as long as you've got a little imagination.

Very clever and very well done!
Thanks for the idea!

Congrats Bob. Although I own dozens of knives, I still consider the Fang to be just about tops in the "Bang for the buck" category. This is the knife that made me a believer in the feasibility of a daily carry FB.
