Bob,

The 1095 Hobbit Fang is my favorite daily carry knife.

Yesterday when entering a courthouse I had to disarm myself. The Fang and my Sig went under the seat of my truck, like they do every time. When I came out 2 1/2 hours later the kydex sheath had lost all of the molding (if it were a holster I believe the term would be boning). When I picked up the sheath by the chain the knife stayed behind. The Blade tech holster that my Sig was in was uneffected. The weather was 87 degrees F. Two Quick Questions:

Is it normal for such heavy duty kydex to warp in a hot car?

and

What can I do to get a new sheath (cost, ect).

I have no idea why that happned. There are two reasons we use .093 Kydex first safty, second is the heat factor. You can try this tape three layers of masking tape on the blade and use a blow dryer to heat up the sheath with the knife inside. If you don't have a rubber jawed vise put the knife and sheath in the center a large yellow pages (a big city one) and stand with your foot right over the blade. Wait ten minutes and take the tape off.

Bob,

tried it, and while it looks less warped, it still didn't hold the knife securely enough for my tastes. I then used a toaster oven and the sheath looks even better, and holds the knife a little better. Subsequent attempts produced no better results. It is now stuck somewhere around half buttocked. Are replacement sheaths available? What to they cost?
