had a thought for a kit/sheath combo, and wondered if anyone has seen anything like it.

I'm picturing a slim pak about 4"x6"x3" with a toughly lined pouch on the back that will let a fixed blade knife ride horizontally. It could either have its own waist strap or attatch to a regular sized belt.

I'm with you I always thought a fanny pack that ripped open,an held a fixed blade inside in a sheith would be a natural follow up to all the ones made for guns.I do have a LL bean fanny pack that has a belt slot in the rear,in case you want to thread it though your own belt.I sometimes will clip my EX.Voyager inside of this ,this allows me to draw it by be slipping my hand between the pack and my body, which is quicker than unzipping the bag and fishing aound inside.

The sheath knife in the fanny pack would not be all that hard to do.

Take some of the stronger hook and loop, sew that inside the pack where you wanted the knife to go. Take the complementary fabric and attach it to the sheath, especially a kydex sheath.

Doing it that way, you can change knives around, etc.

Either that or install a few brass grommets on the outside of the pack, -secure with paracord to the sheath.

I'd probably do better with brass and knots than sewing

I've got a River City concealex sheath on my daily carry rig (i.e. Stealth Pac) belt. Doesn't conceal it but keeps that Delica real handy!
