throw this design out to the kamis with the next order : take a 18" AK but instead of one have two blades coming out from the handle and set them about 3-4" apart.
What is the intended purpose for this? Well when you are chopping on large wood if you start out with your chops close enough together so that the chips break out, you will peak before you cut through. This presents a problem. The above "khukuri" would be an obvious solution as it would give me about 6-8" of additional spread in the initial cut and still be able to knock chips out.
I have actually seen knives like this, they were all fantasy "dragon killers" though and did not have the right balance or steel for heavy chopping.
