like fantasy football.. not united cutlery

mine would have

-CQC-8 blade shape, at about 4.2 inches, high flat ground
-Axis Lock by Benchmade
-Emerson Wave
-154CM steel as done by Benchmade, in stonewash plain edge blade
-G10 scales as done Cold Steel (I like how grippy it is)
-thumbstud like Benchmade makes them, somehow they position them perfectly so that their manual knives are as fast as autos
-clip like my al mar sere 2000 (i like it really low riding)
-jimping like on the spyderco manix-2, super aggressive and everywhere

that would be my end all/be all of knives

if i could have that knife, i would seriously stop (well probably not..)

what would yours be?

Cold steel recon triad lock, drilled for tip down clip and a blade made of s30v and full flat ground.

Benchmade 806, but an inch smaller, with dual thumbstuds instead of a thumb hole, tip-up only, M4 blade steel, and with a U-shaped clip like that found on a Benchmade mini pika for ultra-deep cary.

My fantasy folder would be made by Rick Hinderer or Tom Mayo.

My fantasy fixed blade would be made by Bod Dozier.

Knives they make:

  • A Ken Erikson Cattlman's Knife
  • A Ken Erikson 5-bladed Stockman with the punch.
  • Large Sebenza
  • Small Sebenza
  • Hinderer XM18
  • Koster Bushcrafter
  • BRKT Aurora
  • ESEE H.E.S.T. (although that'll come to fruition before any above probably)
  • ESEE 5
  • A Pekka Custom Puukko with a wood handle, silversteel.

Knives they don't make yet, but I want:

  • An ESEE 4 or 5 inch Scandi Grind Bushcraft.
  • An ESEE 5 inch with the .188 thinkness and a full flat grind.

Benchmade Rift, fixed blade, full flat grind, M4 steel, full tang, (G-10 or Micarta handle slabs, same/similar to the folder.)

Benchmade 72X fixed blade, full flat grind, M4 steel, full tang, (G-10 or Micarta handle slabs, same/similar to the folder.)

I'd commission a collaboration between Walter Brend (grinds, blade finish on a CPM 110V blade), Tim Galyean (Timascus framelock, bearing system, detent), and Butch Vallotton (make it D/A with a mokume firing overlay scale and fileworked backspacer).

Some great thoughts here.

Although he has already been mentioned by HoosierQ any knife made by Ken Erickson or anything coming out of Wilfred Works would fulfill my knife fantasy. (Although I might be too steeped in reality :D).

My latest would be something from C Gray Taylor, but I am willing to settle from anything by Joel Chamblin, Bill Ruple, Richard Rogers or Mike Zscherny, Jess Horn, Ron Lake, Wolfgang Loerchner, Henry Frank, Larry Fuegen, Ryuichi Kawamura, George Dailey, Dan Burke or Shigeru Tozaki.

Years ago my fantasy knife was a Kit Carson Auto. Considering that he only made 30 of the one I lusted after and that they are well spoken for and not libel to show up, I figured it would remain a fantasy.

With the help of Kit and a friend of the forum that fantasy became a reality so never give up hope and keep looking.

Tom Mayo/ Tom Krein Collab on a folding Krein Bulldog with Mayo contoured Ti handle slabs and holes. Krein grinds with Mayo satin finish on the blade and IKBS to top it all off.

m4 BM 940 with Ti scales and springs.
m4 umnumzaan.
framelock BM 690BC1 with, you guessed it, m4. or CPM 154.

I can't afford production, and you are talking about fantasy stuff.

well I want a Busse Push Dagger.
And lately I've wanted
AL Mar Eagle Classic, Honey Jigged Bone, Talon with super steel blade.

Also I want a light saber, and not the wussy one, I want the one which is more utilitarian with two blades, also I want it with camo colored blade, if that not available, I'll have one in black.

mine would be a Scott Cook Lochsa, with a spyder hole, Mayonized and with the TNT style handle jimping, and then Galyean pro-series Lahar jimping on the blade.

edit: actually I'd want two of these. one in the standard bead blast + satin finish. another with textured carbon fiber inlays on the spine, and handle slabs, but with the satin section left as tumbled titanium.

edit 2: this thread made me want to put an Emerson thumb disc onto my GPS small Lahar.

Well im in to balisongs so mine would have to be a,

Benchmade model 43 and instead of skeletonized handels it would have g10 insterts

Damascus blade

Spring latch

Bearings

and i think thats about it

8 inch blade with a jason knight styled clip Knuck knife with CF scales and parked blade. With removable scales.

A 5.5" Entrek Merc with thinner blade stock and available in CPM154. And a better kydex sheath.

A ZT 0100, non recurve (satin-finished or OD green/tan coated) blade and canvas micarta handles instead of G10. Available in S30V or CPM154.

My stock response to threads likes this:

My fantasy knife would be a Buck 110 with a 1095 blade.

"m4 BM 940 with Ti scales and springs"

this.

i want an xm-18 3" flipper. period. with ^ that thing next to it. mmm
