After reading the review of the Dweller on Bladereviews I have been intersted in it, although with one problem. I specifically want a knife of the Dweller's style with a blade no bigger than 2.5 inches. The blade of the Dweller is listed as 2.6 in the review, the Fantoni catalog and a Finnish dealer's site. However, while looking at its different versions at the Lamnia site, I noticed that the micarta version is listed as having a 2.52-inch blade and a slightly longer closed length but with a shorter overall length. The measurement disparities in the micarta version itself and between it and the wood-handled models lead me to believe the measurements on the micarta version are incorrect. I plan on calling Lamnia Monday but was curious to see if anyone has the micarta version of the Dweller and could measure it. And, does it come with the leather pocket sheath?

I can't answer your question on the Fantoni, but the Lone Wolf Loveless City Knife is the same style and has a 2.5" blade. They are a bit hard to find but they turn up on the exchange every once in awhile.

The Lonewolf one is the authorized Loveless knife. The current Fantoni version was not designed by Fantoni, they just changed enough of the Loveless design to be able to make and sell it since the authorized version was quite popular.

Try and get the original Lonewolf version. It has a special steel made just for Lonewolf's Loveless series of knives. It also has the classic Loveless green micarta with red accents with a steel frame and integral bolsters. It has jimping on the "wrong side" of the blade because Loveless thought it was better for peeling fruit. I have one and it's a "Queen" but it gets used because it is good looking and a great design, well executed by Fantoni under contract to Lonewolf.

The original version holds their value, even when used. It does have the Loveless mark.

I have one!

I'm away from home at the moment but I will be back in a couple hours and will measure it then. Mine did not come with a leather slip sheath, but I bought it from Heinnie Haynes, so I'm not sure if it would be different if you order it from Lamnia (I should have ordered from Lamnia, as it's cheaper, I just didn't know they had the Dweller when I ordered).

As for the knife itself, it is wonderful. While it looks sort of silly at first, it feels amazing in the hand, and the short, thin (.09"), extra-pointy blade is perfect for super precise cutting tasks (and the 19C27 at 61-62 Rc takes an extremely sharp edge). If had to perform a dissection in the fly, I would feel comfortable (relatively speaking) doing it with this knife. I think it's the perfect example of why you don't necessarily want to cram as much blade in the handle as possible; a longer blade on this knife would throw the whole thing off.

I will get back to you with the blade length.

The Lonewolf one is the authorized Loveless knife.

It is indeed a beautiful knife:

It's pretty amazing that the above-pictured one sold for only $95 (on Cutting Edge, A.G. Russell's consignment site). I wish I had nabbed it!

I just measured the green micarta one. The blade length is just under 2.5" (2 and 15/32", to be exact). This is as measured from the very base of the blade (the ricasso) all the way to the tip.

Great, thanks for measuring it. I went ahead and ordered one
